Posted on: May 27, 2008

CRESTON, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation's Creston construction office has approved the following lane closures of Interstate 80 in Madison and Dallas Counties.

One eastbound lane of I-80 will be closed from the Madison County line to exit 110 (U.S. 169) in Dallas County beginning today, weather permitting.

One westbound lane of I-80 from the Madison County line to exit 104 (County Road P-57) will be closed today, weather permitting.

Lane closures will be allowed Monday through the overnight hours into Friday morning each week, but no weekend lane closures will be allowed from 6 a.m. Fridays to 8 p.m. Sundays. There will be no work on the project that will restrict lanes during the month of August.

Eastbound work will resume in September with overnight closures to place the  bridge approaches at exit 104, Dallas County Road P-57.

The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey posted signs in the construction area. As in all construction zones, drivers should stay alert, watch their speed, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear their seat belts.
