Road repairs begin in northeast Iowa


NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation's New Hampton construction office is announcing road repairs beginning today in several northeast Iowa counties.

Work associated with this project will be full depth patching of small sections on each roadway. Routes in Floyd, Butler, Fayette, Winneshiek, Allamakee, and Black Hawk counties will be repaired. The routes include: Iowa 14 six miles east of Charles City, Iowa 14 from Allison south to Parkersburg, Iowa 150 from Fayette south to Maynard, U.S. 52 in Calmer, Iowa 3 six and one-half miles east of Allison, Iowa 9 in Waukon, Iowa 9 from Cresco to Ridgeway, and Iowa 3 in Oelwein.

One crew will be utilized and move from route to route. Traffic on two lane roads will be controlled with flaggers and pilot cars and on four lane roads lanes, closures will be used. This work is expected to take three weeks to complete.
