UPDATE - Ankeny motor vehicle center resumes operations - noon update

June 26, 2008

ANKENY, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Transportation's Motor Vehicle service center in Ankeny has resumed operations following a temporary closure related to the area-wide power outage. Employees are in the process of returning to the facility and operations are beginning to return to normal. Iowans needing driver's license or motor carrier services may once again obtain those services though the center in Ankeny. #

ANKENY, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation's Motor Vehicle service center in Ankeny is currently experiencing a power outage. Customer services including driver's licensing and motor carrier permitting can not be performed at this time. Iowans needing driver's license services should go to the permanent driver's license station in Ames or the Jasper, Warren or Dallas county treasurer's office for assistance. The Polk County treasurer's office does not offer driver's license services. #
