U.S. 6 in Cass County will be reduced to one lane for construction work in Cass County beginning Monday, June 30, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's (Iowa DOT) Creston construction office.

Traffic will be assisted by flaggers and a pilot car through the construction area from Cass County Road N-16 to Iowa 48. A 12-foot width restriction is in place for this project.

The construction project is expected to be completed by mid-August, weather permitting.

The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey posted signs in the construction area. As in all construction zones, drivers should stay alert, watch their speed, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear their seat belts.
