Work scheduled for Interstate 380/U.S. 20/U.S. 218

WATERLOO, Iowa – Work is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 26, to reattach a permanent directional sign on the Black Hawk County Road V-51 bridge above the U.S. 20/Interstate 380 westbound lanes, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT). The work should be completed by mid-day.

During the sign replacement, U.S. 20/Interstate 380 westbound lanes will be closed and traffic detoured onto Black Hawk County Road V-51 off-ramp and then down the on-ramp and back onto the interstate.

Also that day, the protective overhang above all lanes will removed requiring single-lane closures in both directions of U.S. 20/Interstate 380 until the work is completed.

If weather does not permit these operations on June 26, work will be delayed until June 27.

The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey posted signs in the construction area. As in all construction zones, drivers should stay alert, watch their speed, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear their seat belts.
