Bridge deck patching reduces lanes on westbound I-80 in Johnson County

MANCHESTER, Iowa – July 31, 2008 – Westbound I-80 in Johnson County is scheduled to be reduced to one lane during the overnight hours beginning tonight according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Manchester construction office.

The road restrictions on the bridge over Black Hawk Avenue in Johnson County, approximately 1.6 miles east of the Iowa County will be in place during evening and nighttime hours from 9 p.m. Sunday nights to 7 a.m. Monday mornings, and from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday nights through Friday mornings for approximately one week. The roadway will be returned to full use when workers are not present.

Dormark Construction, of Grimes, is the contractor for the $31,527 project.

In all work zones, obey posted speed limits, allow ample space between vehicles and eliminate distractions.
