AMES, Iowa – Aug. 26, 2008 – Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 2, traffic will be restricted to one lane on Interstate 35 from exit 113 (13th Street in Ames) in Story County north to one mile north of the I-35/U.S. 20 interchange in Hamilton County, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Jefferson construction office.

In addition to the lane restrictions, the speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph in the work zone.

Traffic will return to normal when the project is completed Oct. 10, weather permitting.

The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey posted signs in the work area. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, obey posted speed limits, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
