Temporary closure of I-35 scenic view rest area north of Ames

AMES, Iowa – Aug. 26, 2008 – The Interstate 35 southbound Scenic Prairie View rest area has been closed to traffic because of a patching and joint seal project between exit 123 (Story County Road E-18) and exit 116 (Story County Road E-29), according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Jefferson construction office.
The scenic rest area will reopen Aug. 27 when the project is completed, weather permitting.
The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey posted signs in the work area. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, obey posted speed limits, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
