Eastbound U.S. 30 near Ames to be closed overnight Monday for bridge repair
JEFFERSON, Iowa – Sept. 26, 2008 – Eastbound U.S. 30 in near Ames will be closed overnight Monday, Sept. 29 into Tuesday morning to allow for bridge repairs, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Jefferson construction office.
The roadway is expected to close Monday, Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. and remain closed until Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 6 a.m., weather permitting, to remove a bridge beam that was damaged when struck by a vehicle. During the closure, traffic will be detoured to Iowa 930 into Ames and then on Lincoln Way to South Dakota Avenue and back to U.S. 30.
Use caution in the work zone. Obey all posted signs. Allow ample space between vehicles, minimize distractions and always wear your seat belt.
