Iowa 1 and U.S. 6 lanes restricted in Johnson County
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Sept. 24, 2008 – Construction work will restrict traffic lanes on Iowa 1 and U.S. 6 in Johnson County beginning Thursday, Sept. 25, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Cedar Rapids construction office.
Hawkeye Paving Company of Bettendorf is the prime contractor for this patching project on Iowa 1 from the junction with U.S. 218 northeast to the junction with U.S. 6 and then on U.S. 6 from Hawkins Drive southeasterly to Lakeside Drive
The restrictions will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sunday evenings through Friday mornings. The project is expected to be completed in 10 days, weather permitting.
Use caution in the work zone. Obey all posted signs. Allow ample space between vehicles, minimize distractions and always wear your seat belt.
