Iowa DOT News Release

Lane closures on I-35 in northern Iowa to be expected throughout October

Posted on: September 30, 2008

BRITT, Iowa – Sept. 30, 2008 – Concrete patching work will restrict lanes in both directions of Interstate 35 from Hamilton County to the Minnesota border, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Britt construction office.

The patching work on I-35 will periodically reduce the roadway to one 14-foot lane. Travelers should be prepared for sporadic lane closures, even if workers are not present, as the concrete patches cure.

The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey posted signs in the work area. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, obey posted speed limits, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
