Lane restrictions on U.S. 30 begin Wednesday in Greene and Boone counties
JEFFERSON, Iowa – Sept. 29, 2008 – An asphalt joint and crack sealing project will restrict lanes on U.S. 30 near Ogden beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Jefferson construction office.
The project is set to begin in Greene County at Iowa 144 and continue to just before U.S. 169 South in Boone County. The moving project will be conducted on weekdays and Saturdays and is expected to be completed in two weeks, weather permitting. One lane will be closed during the work and traffic will be assisted through the work zones by flaggers and a pilot car.
The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey flaggers and posted signs in the work area. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, obey posted speed limits, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
