U.S. 75 road work closes one lane
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Sept. 24, 2008 – Continuing road work on U.S. 75 in Sioux and Lyon counties has reduced the roadway to one lane, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Sioux City construction office.
The hot mix asphalt resurfacing project is set from U.S. 18 west to Iowa 9. Flaggers and a pilot car are in place to assist motorists. There is a 15-foot lane width restriction on the open lane. Traffic is returned to normal when workers are not present. The project is expected to be completed by the end of October, weather permitting.
The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey posted signs in the work area. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, obey posted speed limits, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
