All lanes of Iowa 92 to open today or tomorrow at Knoxville
CHARITON, Iowa – Oct. 30, 2008 – Construction work related to Iowa 92 near Knoxville is nearing completion, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Chariton construction office.
Both lanes of eastbound Iowa 92 are now open. Traffic on westbound Iowa 92 should be allowed on both lanes either later today or tomorrow; however, minor, intermittent lane closures will continue in the area for the next few weeks as the contractor completes the construction project.
The westbound Iowa 92 exit ramp to Iowa 14 remains closed and a detour is in place. This ramp is expected to open Monday, weather permitting.
The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey posted signs in the work area. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, obey posted speed limits, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
