DAVENPORT, Iowa – Oct. 31, 2008 – Road construction will restrict lanes of Interstates 80 and 280 in both directions in Scott County beginning next week, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Davenport construction office.
When crews are present, I-80 will be reduced to one lane for crack filling on the interchange ramps from exit 280 (Scott County Road Y-30) to exit 301 (Middle Road). Work on the I-80/U.S. 61 interchange will not be permitted from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. or from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nightwork will be permitted.
The I-280 crack filling work is taking place on interstate interchanges beginning at I-80 and progressing to Iowa 22 (exit 8).
The roadway will be returned to normal traffic patterns when workers are not present. The crack filling operation is expected to be complete by the end of November, weather permitting.
The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey posted signs in the work area. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, obey posted speed limits, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
