I-80 lanes restricted in Dallas County for rumble strip installation Nov. 5-6

CRESTON, Iowa – Oct. 30, 2008 – Traffic in both directions on Interstate 80 will be reduced to one lane Wednesday, Nov. 5 and Thursday, Nov. 6 for installation of shoulder rumble strips, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Creston construction office.

The project is scheduled to begin at the Dallas/Madison County line and proceed east to exit 106 (Dallas County Road P-58). The shoulder work will close alternating lanes as rumble strips are installed. The open traffic lanes will be restricted to an 18-foot lane width limit.

The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey posted signs in the work area. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, obey posted speed limits, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
