Concrete patching restricts westbound U.S. 34 in Jefferson County through Wednesday

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa – Nov. 24, 2008 – Concrete patching on westbound U.S. 34 will restrict the roadway to one lane though Wednesday, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Mount Pleasant construction office.
The patching work has begun on the outside lane of westbound U.S. 34 at mile post 208 west of Fairfield. Tomorrow and Wednesday, the work will switch to the inside lane. While the project is in process, the open lane will be restricted to a 12-foot lane widt h limit.
In all work zones, obey posted signs, reduce distractions and wear seat belts.
