Utility work to briefly close I-235 at Broadway Ave. bridge Sunday morning
DES MOINES, Iowa – Feb. 27, 2009 – Mid-American Energy will be conducting utility work over Interstate 235 near the Broadway Ave. bridge Sunday morning, March 1, weather permitting. To accommodate this project, the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) will close the roadway briefly in both directions, as well as both the east- and westbound I-80 entrance ramps to I-235.
Law enforcement will provide traffic control using a rolling roadblock to assist motorists through the work area during two 20-minute closures beginning at approximately 6:45 a.m. Sunday, March 1. Northbound I-235 will also have the left lane closed until approximately noon, weather permitting.
The Iowa DOT urges motorists to use caution in the area, obey law enforcement and posted signs, reduce distractions and always wear seat belts.
