Iowa DOT work will close 180th Avenue in Keokuk County April 11

FAIRFIELD, Iowa – March 31, 2009 –  A culvert replacement project will close 180th Avenue in Keokuk County April 11, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Sigourney maintenance garage.

The culvert replacement work will take place one mile west of Keswick at the intersection of Iowa 22 and 180th Avenue. As scheduled, the road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Traffic will be assisted to the detour by flaggers.

The detour route will use Iowa 22, Keokuk County Road V-44 through Keswick, to 120th Street and back to 180th Avenue.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
