Ramp lanes at I-380 interchange with U.S. 30 in Cedar Rapids restricted overnights beginning tomorrow

MANCHESTER, Iowa – April 24, 2009 – Beginning tomorrow, weather permitting, lane closures are expected on the ramps and loops at the interchange of Interstate 380 and U.S. 30 in Cedar Rapids, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Manchester construction office.

The two-week project to resurface the ramps and loops at this interchange will cause intermittent, overnight lane closures. When closures are in place traffic will be detoured to the next interchange. Contractors are expected to be onsite between 7:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. daily, weather permitting.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
