Temporary lane closures on I-80 in Des Moines today

DES MOINES, Iowa – April 23, 2009 – Temporary lane closures on Interstate 80 westbound between exit 123 (I-35/80 and I-235 interchange) and exit 125 (U.S. 6) Thursday, April 23, to allow for pavement marking work, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Des Moines construction office.
The work will start at 9 a.m. and should be completed by 3 p.m. today.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
