UPDATE - U.S. 34 to be closed April 27 and 28 in Adams County
ATLANTIC, Iowa – April 24, 2009 – A road closure on U.S. 34 originally scheduled for April 27 only has been expanded to add another daily closure April 28, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 4 Office.
The closure is necessary to provide space for filming. The road will be closed from the junction of Iowa 148 in Corning east to the junction of Adams County Road N-64. The roadway will be reopened overnight April 27 and closed again when crews are ready to begin filming April 28.
Traffic will be detoured using Adams County roads J-20 and N-64. The roadway will be returned to normal traffic late in the day April 28.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
