U.S. 71 lanes to be restricted in Milford beginning Wednesday
CHEROKEE, Iowa – April 27, 2009 – Lane closures are scheduled for next week on U.S. 71 in Milford, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Cherokee construction office.
The construction project will cause intermittent lane closures beginning Wednesday, April 29, from the south corporate limits of Milford north to Eighth Street. Intermittent lane closures can be expected in the area for approximately one month.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
