Northbound lane closures on U.S. 218 in Waterloo scheduled for Wednesday at 9 a.m.

NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – June 30, 2009 – Installation of overhead truss signs will cause temporary lane closures on northbound U.S. 218 between Iowa 27 and Black Hawk County Road C-57 near George Wyth State Park from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) New Hampton construction office.

 

Traffic will be assisted through the work area by signs and arrow boards.

 

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
