Karl King Bridge in Fort Dodge reopens tomorrow

AMES, Iowa – Aug. 31, 2009 – The Karl King Bridge in Fort Dodge (Iowa 926) will be reopened  shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) District 1 Office in Ames. After removing the barricades, crews will remove the detour signs.

Traffic will be placed in a head-to-head pattern on the westbound lanes as bridge maintenance work continues.

The bridge was closed July 13 for pier repairs. The contractor completed the final pour of the Karl King Bridge pier 4 on Friday, Aug. 28.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work zone.
