Lane closures begin Monday on Interstate 680 Missouri River (Mormon) bridge

Distributed by the Iowa Department of Transportation to Iowa media outlets and other news subscribers in cooperation with the Nebraska Department of Roads. Travel restrictions will impact persons traveling to and from the state on Interstate 680 across the Missouri River bridge.

LINCOLN, Neb. – Aug. 28, 2009 – Daytime lane closures are expected on the Interstate 680 Missouri River (Mormon) bridge between Douglas County, Nebraska and Pottawattamie County, Iowa beginning Monday, Aug. 31.

The closures are necessary for bridge inspection and repair. The contactor is allowed to close one lane in each direction from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each weekday next week. When closures are in place, the open lane will have a 12-foot lane width restriction.
