Lane restrictions on Iowa 141 in Guthrie and Dallas counties start Wednesday
CRESTON, Iowa – Aug. 31, 2009 – Slow-moving road maintenance operations will cause traffic to be restricted to one lane on Iowa 141 between Iowa 4 in Guthrie County and Iowa 144/Dallas County Road P-58 starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Creston construction office.
A 16-foot width lane restriction will also be in place. Traffic will be assisted through the work area by flaggers and a pilot car when lane closures are in place. The roadway will return to normal traffic patterns when workers are not present.
The project is expected to be completed by 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, weather permitting.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
