Iowa DOT News Release

Iowa 141 lanes in Guthrie and Dallas counties restricted for asphalt crack filling beginning Oct. 2

Posted on: September 30, 2009

CRESTON, Iowa – Sept. 30, 2009 – Intermittent lane closures can be expected on Iowa 141 in Guthrie and Dallas counties beginning Friday, Oct. 2, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Creston construction office.

The crack filling operation will close one lane of traffic intermittently from Iowa 4 to Iowa 144 (Dallas County Road P-58) in Perry. When a lane is closed, traffic will be assisted through the work area by flaggers and a pilot car.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
