U.S. 69 ramp to U.S. 30 in Ames closed overnight Wednesday
DES MOINES, Iowa – Sept. 29, 2009 – The entrance ramp from U.S. 69 to westbound U.S. 30 will closed overnight Wednesday, Sept. 30 into Thursday morning, Oct. 1, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Des Moines construction office.
The closure is necessary to continue a resurfacing project in the area. The ramp is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. Thursday, weather permitting.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
