Proposed bridge removal in Sioux City to be discussed Dec. 3


AMES, Iowa – Nov. 19, 2009 – The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) will hold a public information meeting Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, in Sioux City to discuss the proposed removal of the Iowa 12/Gordon Drive bridge over an abandoned railroad, 1.5 miles west of the junction with U.S. 20/U.S. 75 near South Palmetto Street. The public is invited to attend the meeting anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. at the Sioux City Convention Center, Rooms 1 and 2, 801 Fourth St.   

This public information meeting will be conducted utilizing an open forum format. No formal presentation will be made. Iowa DOT staff members will be present with plans, displays and related information to discuss the projects informally.

Through traffic would be maintained on Iowa 12 by the use of an on-site detour.
