Posted on: February 17, 2010

AMES, Iowa – Feb. 17, 2010 – 4 p.m. – The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is reporting that road conditions have improved significantly today. All lanes of travel on state-maintained roadways are now open.

Roadways in north central Iowa remain partially covered with a mix of snow and slush, and travelers should continue to stay alert for possible patches of ice on roadways throughout the state.

Road crews will continue with their cleanup activities over the next few days, including removal of snow from shoulders and bridges.
