Construction work on northbound I-29 restricts traffic in Harrison and Monona counties
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – April 29, 2010 – Road construction work on the northbound lanes of Interstate 29 between exit 95 (Harrison County Road F-20) and exit 112 (Iowa 175) will cause traffic to be head-to-head on the southbound lanes of I-29 from two mile south of Exit 105 (Blencoe) to four miles north of Exit 105 (Blencoe), according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Sioux City construction office.
A 15-foot width lane restriction is also in effect. This portion of the project is expected to be completed by mid-June while the entire project is expected to be complete by mid-December.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
