Iowa DOT News Release

Intermittent lane closures begin June 1 on Iowa 3 near Goldfield

Posted on: May 26, 2010

BRITT, Iowa – May 26, 2010 – Concrete patching and repair work will require Iowa 3 to be reduced to one lane between Iowa 17 and Wright County Road
R-33 one mile west of Goldfield beginning June 1, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Britt construction office.

A pilot car and flaggers will assist traffic through the construction zone. The project is expected to be completed June 11, weather permitting.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
