Traffic pattern changes on I-29 near Pacific Junction begin June 3

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – May 28, 2010 –  Traffic patterns are expected to change on Interstate 29 between exit 10 (Iowa 2) and four miles north of exit 35 (U.S. 34) beginning June 3, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Council Bluffs office.

Weather and schedules permitting, traffic will be shifted in a head-to-head pattern at three separate locations on this section of I-29 beginning Thursday, June 3. These traffic patterns will remain in place until late August.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
