Posted on: May 27, 2010

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – May 27, 2010 – Full-depth patching will cause U.S. 67 to be closed in both directions between 19th Avenue North and Main Avenue in Clinton, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Cedar Rapids construction office.

During construction, traffic will be detoured using 19th Avenue North from North Second Street to North Third Street and North Third Street from 19th Avenue North to Main Avenue. A 12-foot width restriction is in place on the detour route. The patching project is expected to be completed by Friday, June 18, weather permitting.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
