U.S. 34 near Pacific Junction closed for bridge demolition work

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – June 28, 2010 – U.S. 34 between Mills County Road L-31 and I-29 near Pacific Junction is now closed for bridge demolition work. Traffic will be detoured until the project is complete on Oct. 27 at 6 p.m., according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Council Bluffs construction office.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
