SIOUX CITY, Iowa – July 29, 2010 – Bridge construction work on Iowa 141, east of Hornick, will require traffic to be detoured beginning Monday, Aug. 16, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Sioux City construction office.

During this road closure, traffic will be detoured using Monona County roads K-64 and K-45. The four-way stop at the intersection of Monona County roads K-64 and E-24 will be modified to a two-way stop. The E-24 portion of the intersection will be controlled with a two-way stop and remain in effect once the project is completed Oct. 29. See map for details.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
