Iowa DOT News Release

Lane closure on Iowa 25 to begin Aug. 2

Posted on: July 29, 2010

CRESTON, Iowa – July 29, 2010 – Road construction work on Iowa 25 between Iowa 44 near Guthrie Center and Iowa 141 near Bayard will cause an intermittent lane closure beginning Monday, Aug. 2, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Creston construction office.

Also, a 16-foot width lane restriction will be in place. Flaggers and a pilot car will assist traffic through the work zone. The roadway will be returned to normal traffic patterns when workers are not present. The project is expected to be completed Oct. 4.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
