Lane closures on U.S. 67 beginning Aug. 2
DAVENPORT, Iowa – July 28, 2010 – Bridge washing activities scheduled for the railroad bridge over U.S. 67, located 1.6 miles east of U.S. 61 in Davenport, will cause lane closures in both directions, reducing the roadway to one lane between Jersey Ridge Road and Mississippi Avenue from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. nightly beginning Monday, Aug. 2, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Davenport construction office.
During the bridge washing, a width limit of 11 feet six inches will be in place. Work is expected to be completed by 7 a.m. Aug. 9, weather permitting.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
