Posted on: August 30, 2010

NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – Aug. 30, 2010 –
Patching and sealing work on the Interstate 380 from the east junction with U.S. 20 to near Evansdale will require temporary lane closures within the work zone starting Monday night, Sept. 6 and ending Monday, Sept. 20, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) New Hampton construction office.

Work will take place between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 p.m. Sunday evening to 6 a.m. Monday morning. Traffic may need to shift slightly onto the paved shoulder within the work area.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
