Iowa DOT News Release

Overnight lane restrictions on I-80 in Iowa County begin tonight

Posted on: August 30, 2010

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Aug. 30, 2010 – Asphalt joint and crack sealing work will require restricting the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 from I-380 to U.S. 151 in Iowa County beginning overnight tonight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Cedar Rapids construction office.

The lane restrictions will be in place overnights through Friday morning and then restart Tuesday night, Sept. 7 and continue in the overnight hours until Friday morning, Sept. 10. American Pavement Solutions of Green Bay, Wisc. is the contractor for this project.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
