Patching work on I-80 between exit 277 and the Iowa/Illinois state line begins Oct. 3
DAVENPORT, Iowa – Sept. 24, 2010 – Nighttime patching work on Interstate 80 between exit 277 (Cedar County Road Y-26) near Durant and the Iowa/Illinois state line will reduce the roadway to one lane in each direction from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Sundays and from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights beginning Sunday, Oct. 3, until Wednesday, Nov. 3, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Davenport construction office.
Patching on I-80 includes interchange ramps and side roads. Also, an 11-foot width lane restriction will be in place.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
