I-235 Lane closures in Polk County begin Nov. 1
DES MOINES, Iowa – Oct. 29, 2010 – Dynamic message sign work on Interstate 235 between exit 11 (east Euclid Avenue) and exit 137 (I-35/80 interchange) near Ankeny will require closing the outside lane in both directions from 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Des Moines construction office.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
