Lane restrictions on eastbound I-74 Mississippi River bridge scheduled for Sunday

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Oct. 29, 2010 – Maintenance work on the eastbound Interstate 74 Mississippi River bridge will cause the right lane to be closed between exit 4 (U.S. 67 and Grant and State streets) and U.S. 6 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Davenport maintenance garage.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
