Northbound I-380 in Cedar Rapids to close tonight
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Oct. 28, 2010 – Northbound Interstate 380 by Diagonal Drive in Cedar Rapids will be closed from midnight tonight until 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, weather permitting, for the installation of a sign truss, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Cedar Rapids construction office.
Northbound traffic will be diverted to Third Street at the Diagonal Drive/Eighth Avenue exit and then travel on Third Street to First Avenue, and finally cross First Avenue to take the entrance ramp to northbound I-380. Motorists should follow the marked detour.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
