I-80 at exit 246 in Iowa City to close Dec. 1 and Dec. 2 for nighttime bridge construction
MANCHESTER, Iowa – Nov. 30, 2010 – Nighttime bridge construction work will require closure of Interstate 80 at exit 246 (Iowa 1 and Dodge Street) in Iowa City Wednesday, Dec. 1, and Thursday, Dec. 2, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Manchester construction
- Eastbound I-80 at exit 246 will be closed from 10 p.m. tomorrow until 6 a.m. Thursday.
- Westbound I-80 at exit 246 will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday.
Traffic will be detoured around the work zone using the ramps at Iowa 1 and Dodge Street during these closures.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
