Iowa DOT holding public input meetings for draft aviation system plan


AMES, Iowa – Nov. 1, 2010 – The Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Office of Aviation will be hosting public input meetings in November to provide information and receive public input on the draft 2010 Iowa Aviation System Plan. The 20-year plan will provide a blueprint for guiding development of Iowa’s air transportation system to meet future needs of users.

Meetings will include a review of proposed system goals, airport roles, and target objectives for airport facilities and the services. Those encouraged to attend and participate in the input meetings include all aviation system users, airport representatives, public officials and anyone interested in aviation in Iowa. Each input meeting will include a short presentation followed by an interactive discussion. Meetings will be held at the following locations.

Thursday, Nov. 4
Northwest Iowa Regional Airport
1957 330th St., Spencer (3 miles west of Spencer)
6:30 p.m.

Monday, Nov.  8
Mason City Municipal Airport­
9184 265th St., Clear Lake
6:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 9
Ankeny Regional Airport
3700 S.E. Convenience Blvd.
7 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 10
Iowa City Municipal Airport
1801 S. Riverside Drive
6:30 p.m.
