DUBUQUE, Iowa – Nov. 24, 2010 – Maintenance work on the westbound lane of the U.S. 20/Julien Dubuque Bridge will restrict traffic to one lane beginning Monday, Dec. 13, and ending Monday, Dec. 20, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Dubuque maintenance garage.

The westbound lane of the bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 15, and Thursday, Dec. 16. Traffic will be assisted through the work zone by flaggers and will return to normal when workers are not present.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
