Iowa Transportation Commission approves Iowa's Clean Air Attainment Program funding
AMES, Iowa – Jan. 11, 2011 – The Iowa Transportation Commission today approved more than $4.6 million for 11 projects from Iowa's Clean Air Attainment Program. The program was created with federal funds in 1994 for the purpose of reducing transportation-related congestion and air pollution. This funding is available to cities, counties, state agencies, and nonprofit organizations through an annual application-based program.
The projects and approved funding amounts are listed below.
- 53rd Street Traffic Signal Interconnection and Coordination Project (Davenport) - $236,000
- Beaver Avenue/Urbandale Avenue Intersection Roundabout (Des Moines) -$600,000
- City of Waukee Traffic Signal System Network (Waukee) - $320,000
- Iowa 100 (Collins Road) Complete Streets Project at Lindale Mall (Cedar Rapids) - $1,500,000
- Locust Street Traffic Signal Interconnect (Davenport) - $320,400
- Merle Hay Road Traffic Signal Interconnect (Johnston) - $349,690
- Route No. 7 Fort Des Moines/Hubbell Service Improvements (Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority) - $256,511
- Route No. 11 Ingersoll Avenue/West Des Moines/Jordan Creek Service Improvements (Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority) - $45,629
- Shopping Circulator (Dubuque, Keyline Transit) - $225,907
- Traffic Adaptive Signal Control System - Mills Civic Parkway (West Des Moines) - $353,600
- NW 142nd Street and Hickman Road Intersection Improvements (Clive) - $400,000
