Iowa City driver’s license station to be closed in early March for business space reconfiguration
AMES, Iowa – Feb. 14, 2011 – The Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Iowa City driver’s license (DL) station at Eastdale Mall, 1700 S. First. Ave., will close on March 4 at noon and reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8.
The purpose of the temporary closing is to reconfigure the business space to accommodate the new driver’s licensing process in which customers have their photos taken first, rather than at the end of the visit.
Individuals needing assistance while the Iowa City DL station is closed can go to any participating county treasurer’s office or other Iowa DOT driver’s license station located around the state. Information on the location and hours of Iowa’s driver’s license issuance sites is available at: http://www.iowadot.gov/mvd//ods/dlsites.htm.
